The Cleansing Ritual from The Herb Boutique || A Charcoal and Green Tea Soap Bar

Exotic things excites me, things that I have never come across before or have even heard of interests me. Something organic, vegan, cruelty free, eco-friendly, draws my attention to them even more. To add to all these, a company which is responsible, and encourages women empowerment has my full support in any shape or form. One such brand is The Heb Boutique which I recently stumbled upon. They were kind enough to send me some of their hand made products, which I posted about some time back. You can read it here. Today I am sharing with you about this soap which has the goodness of charcoal and green tea.

" This soap combines the richness of quality green tea that has been steeped for 24 hours for maximum benefit and the deep cleansing quality of the black soap. While in the bathtub, you are mesmerized by it alluring scent and smoothness as it glides on your skin. It is mild enough to be used on the face and whole body for a thorough cleansing. The combination of these two will leave your skin looking fresh and clean."

Organic, hand made products can be quite expensive, and these are not an exception. Retailing for Rs 300 is quite premium for a soap. I think the quantity to be of 100 gms, as net weight was not mentioned anywhere in the package, neither in their website.
You can buy the product from their website only.

Since the product looks nothing like how it is displayed in their website, I am not quite sure which one is the final one. The black heart shaped one does look cute, I wish that was sent to me. The one I got is a mix of grey and black square block soap with ridge and furrows.

There is no information available in their website about the complete ingredients list, neither it is printed in the package. So I have no clue what butters and oils are used in the soap making process. It has charcoal and green tea as the prime ingredients, which are great for skin. Charcoal works great as cleansing and detoxifying agent for skin, whereas green tea is loaded with anti-oxidants. I wished they could have provided more details about the complete ingredients list. Not knowing what exact ingredients are in this, is quite a thumbs down for me. On the other hand, this does makes me judge the product without having any pre-conceived notion.

Review

The soap is quite hard in texture and dries fast which prevents it from melting away. However, after using it multiple times, the soap broke right from the section of the long black strip. The soap does look joined at that area, doesn't it. So Now I have two prices of soap.

I quite like the ridge and furrow texture which during the initial days of the using the soap, sort of gave a messaging effect to my skin. Later, with the soap reducing it size, the texture went with it too. This smells lovely of a mix of sandalwood with may be a hint of tea maybe! truly quite alluring and subtle. The scent does linger on for quite sometimes.

The soap does glide on smoothly on wet skin and form slippery bubbles as lather. The bubbles later form skin on top when the soap dries. When using a loofah it forms a creamy lather. It cleanses well and leaves skin with a refreshing feeling. The soap is indeed very gentle, I have used this on my face too and it did not make my oily face feel dry. In fact, it did not make my rest of the body dry skin super dry and stretchy too. But nevertheless, you cannot skip body lotion, the soap does not hydrate your skin.

Overall, I do think this to be an excellent soap. This is my first time using a charcoal based soap, and I am quite liking it. I do think this to be quite expensive and is more of an splurge item, something to treat yourself.
