VLCC enchanting eyes kajal in black review

Sunday, October 02, 2016

Hey everyone,

I did a detailed review on these kohl pencils from VLCC on my post HERE. Today I am sharing my thoughts on the black kajal. Since the packaging and other details of the kajal are same like the colored kohl, so I am not getting into much details in this post.

The kajal retails for Rs 199 which is affordable and available at any general cosmetics store and online.

I have noticed the same issue with packaging as the kohl one. It is very flimsy. I had 2 products with me, in one the stick was completely broken at base and was stuck in the cap when I opened it. Somehow I have managed to put the kajal stick back in the case. In the other  the kajal stick felt wobbly to touch, so I am very very careful on how much product I twist up.

It has the same soft texture like the kohl, which makes it very difficult for me to line my eyes. If I put just about decent pressure, the kajal stick breaks. The kajal sets off to a matte finish but smudges off on a very oily eyelid like mine. On dry not hooded eyelids, the kajal may survive for hours. The soft texture can be a plus especially for smokey eye fans like me. I can easily blend it with finger and create a soft smokey eye look. It also acts as a great base for other eye shadows to go on top, this makes me give the kajal a thumbs up.

I am not much pleased with the pigmentation though. It is not jet black and intense like the Lotus Color kick Kajal. So mostly I use this to line my waterline. As dark lined waterline makes my hooded eyes look smaller. This soft black color is perfect for me. On layering it does gives intense black color pay off. This does not irritate my very sensitive eyes ( which waters even by heavy winds) and also does not smudge off , bleed my lower lash line and make me look like a panda.

Overall, I am not wowed by the product, neither do I think it is a dud. At the same price point the Lotus Color Kick is much much better. I wish the company does something about the packaging as broken product inside the case would not have made me happy if I would have bought it with my own money.
