VLCC enchanting eyes green kohl review

Couple of days back this landed on to my doorsteps along with some other amazing stuffs from VLCC and this girl could not be more happier. I love all kinds of make up item that has to do with eyes and this bright emerald green colour just made my day. As soon as I got it, I started playing around with this and today I am sharing my unfiltered honest opinion with you all.

Packaging

It comes in a twist up retractable packaging with a color coded push cap. The problem is once you twist it out, you cannot twist the product back in. So be careful. Then again I am not sure if the product I got is a faulty one or not. To take the above picture I thought of showing the whole bullet, but after a while when I tried to get the product back in, the upper compartment just twisted away, the product stayed out. The texture is so soft that the product broke off.

Colour, texture and pigmentation

Just as the company claims it is indeed a stunning green shade which does brighten up your face. There is a metallic sheen to the colour which I just love. The pigmentation is also great. With one swipe you get opaque colour. The texture is very very soft and smooth, it glides easily. On a very oily eyelid, it will slide a bit. I wished that the texture was a bit more hard. If you put even regular pressure to line your eyes, the product breaks.

Longevity

It applies very soft and would smudge if you have hooded eyes and also oily eyelid. But after a while it kinda dries down to a semi matte, satiny finish. It is not absolutely smudge proof like the Lotus colour kick kajal or the Plum one. But after almost 4-5 hours it starts to smudge on my oily eye lid.

Review

I like the texture of my kohl or kajal to be soft enough just to glide and not slide off and hard enough not to poke. It should glide on effortlessly and with just one stroke I should have the perfect wing, which I had found only in the Lotus Color kick Kajal. The packaging of the VLCC one is quite similar to the Lotus one, even when it comes to giving you options on looks to try.

I really love this emerald green shade. I have never come across any colored kohl before which is this pigmented. It has a decent staying power and does not sting the eyes at all. The only thing which it fails to impress me is the texture. Trust me I can do my eyeliner and a winged one in seconds, but with this I had a difficult time because of the soft texture. With light pressure, the product was not applying well, and with just regular pressure, the product was breaking and crumbling off and getting wasted. Which is a quite let down, don't you think, when it is priced at Rs 245.

I tried to do the looks as suggested on the packaging in the picture above. It did not quite turn out well to my liking, else but the cocktail glamour look, where I had to smudge and blend the product. With a sable hair buffer brush, the kohl blended like a charm. I have mostly been using this to line my water liner. And I also ended up using it more as an eye shadow than a liner. I was playing around with this and ended up creating this graphic green and gold gradient eye look below.

So do I recommend this to you ? Off course and it would totally be for this gorgeous shade and also provided you choose to ignore the soft texture and issue with the retractable pencil case.
