Skin Yoga coffee body scrub review

One thing genuinely good about beauty subscription boxes is that you get to try different products and then you can decide if you want to re-purchase a full size, or Thank God that you did not have to spend a whole lot of money on a dud product. Today I am going to talk about the coffee body scrub from Skin Yoga which came along in June Fab Bag The Beauty Addict. This was the only reason I bought the Fab Bag, because boy this scrub is expensive. But is it worth re-purchasing ?

De-tans and Reduces Cellulites

The caffeine enhances fat metabolism and removes liquid and fat from your skin, ultimately reducing the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. The natural oil moisturizes and nourishes your skin. This scrub also treats inflammation and protects your skin from sun damage.

It is pure coffee hence brown in colour, the texture is quite coarse, gritty and a bit sticky due to the presence of oil. Smells divinely of coffee.

Review

I opened the pouch and it was love at first sniff. I knew this will be a great product and would do wonders for my skin. I have dry skin all over my body so I need to scrub quite frequently to remove the dead skin and reveal the glowing skin underneath. Till now the scrubs I had used was either not coarse enough nor moisturizing enough to satisfy my needs. But that changed with this. No doubt this is by far the best scrub I have used ever.

I take the required quantity in a small bowl and mix it with just enough water to make it pliable. Then scrub my whole body in circular motion. I certainly do not scrub each section of my body for 5-7 minutes. Can you imagine the pain my hands would end up having ? The particles are really coarse and it gives in depth exfoliation no doubt about it, hence my palms ends up paining. So later I started using gloves to message. I try to message for as long as I can and then keep the scrub on me for about 5 minutes. And then shower off. This definitely remove tan, all the rough dry skin and those nasty ingrowths also. My skin feels smooth, soft, supple and healthy. I do have to use it 3 times a week to maintain the glowing skin it gives after each usage. How ever I have not noticed any difference on stretch marks. Yes I have developed a few on my thighs after gaining a few extra pounds after marriage. #realwomanproblems

But, don't you think this body scrub is so DIY-able ? You can get all the ingredients easily available in the market. You can get organic coffee, sesame oil, coconut oil within the same price as the product and would probably have more quantity. Since it is only coffee mixed with oil, one can easily make it at home and store it in air tight container for months. This 100 gms lasted me only for couple of weeks, and that's quite expensive as a body scrub.

So boys and girls, if you want to splurge and do not wish to buy the stuff and make a DIY then get this. Otherwise, the scrub is so DIY-able, I am not going to buy this for sure. I am going to make my own batch in same price with more quantity.
