My current skincare routine

Saturday, August 06, 2016

Heyyyyy Guys, Today I am sharing with you my skincare routine which was much requested by some of you lovely readers. And your wish is my command. My skincare regime keeps on changing based on the season, skin troubles and pampering thyself mood. This is the one that I have following currently. So read on for all the details.

Cleansing and toning

It is the most important step in any skincare is to cleanse your skin thoroughly with a good cleanser. Though I have a holy grail cleanser from Just herbs, but some times I do feel like trying something new in the sulfate free category. I am currently using the Fab India wild rose soap free face wash twice daily. I am going to post a detailed review soon.

It is also important that you exfoliate your skin to unclog pores and deep cleanse. And for oily and acne skin you have to be really careful with what scrub you use. It has to be mild and gentle enough to not to harm your skin. The Body Shop Tea Tree squeaky clean scrub is just that. I use this twice a week. Though this has SLeS, but touch wood this has not irritated my skin ever. This is a good option for acne prone skin.

Next comes toning, trust me guys a good toner makes a huge difference and I have tried so many. A toner pulls out any last bit of dirt from your pores which your face wash did not remove. And it is very important to have every bit of dirt removed or else say hello to a new friend called pimple. The Vichy Normaderm purifying pore tightening lotion is the best. I have used so many bottles of this. This has salicylic and glycolic acid which exfoliates skin gently and removes every bit of dirt. Though it has alcohol, but I did not find any alcohol free toner which is as good as this one.

I also scrub my lips every alternate day with the Forrest Essential Cane Sugar lip scrub. I were a lot of liquid lipstick so this is a must for me. This scrub is a good gentle sugar scrub, which I feel is too pricey. You can easily do a DIY recipe on sugar lip scrub at home with some lemon juice, almond oil and good old sugar.

Moisturizing and skincare

During the day time, after cleaning and toning, I apply Pure Suds De-grease face gel followed by the Lass Naturals SPF50+ sunscreen hydro gel. Again I am going to do a detailed review on this sunscreen in coming days. For lip balm I use the Karite Buerre Pure Shea Butter, this is the thing ever. My lips has never been more soft and nourished.

At the night time after cleansing and toning, I take couple of drops of the Trilogy Antioxidant+ Rosehip oil, warm it in between my palms and then pat and very gently message it in my skin. Followed by the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, as a night cream. The results of this very similar to Vichy Normaderm Night Detox anti-imperfection care which I have used earlier. This is helping me in keeping my skin less oily and also with the acne marks. Deriva CMS, is a medicine for acne prescribed to me by my dermatologists. This is only to be used as spot treatment, and one should apply a very thin layer. This is the best medicine out there for acne treatment, available easily in any medicine shop. I use this as spot treatment now. This has adapelene which is a derivative of Vitamin A, which does peeling on skin. Hence sunscreen is a must, you can never skip it at any cost. Or else the acne marks will get darker and getting rid of it would take a long time. Before going to bed I apply the Karite Buerre shea butter on my lips without fail.

Face packs

When I come back from office I like to relax and put something cooling on my skin. The Fab India aloe and cucumber gel face pack is great for refresh tired skin. I store it in the fridge, and the cool gel mask is really a treat after a tiring day. I use this almost daily or every alternate days.

Twice a week I have been using the Just Herbs advanced ayurvedic pimple care treatment, and honestly I have not noticed much of a difference. May be I will post a detailed review on this one too.

So there it was, my current skin care routine. Let me know in the comments below if you have used any of the products from my routine and how it is working for you. Would love to know your view.

Until next time, hope you are having a great weekend.

Bye Guys.

  1. Hey! nice collection. Though I am using anti-aging treatment by Revitol to treat my skin with youthful looks. But I would like to add these products in my beauty kit also. This will make a great combo.
