Fab India wild rose soap free face wash review

Tuesday, August 09, 2016

I tried the Fab India wild rose body wash couple of months back and it is my absolute favorite now. It had the best rosy scent that I have ever come across in a bath or skincare product. I just could not wait to try the other products from this range. I bought the face wash and the body lotion and I already had been using the rose water for a long time. The face wash from this range intrigued me more for being soap and paraben free. Its good that now we are having more options readily available in the market on sulfate and paraben free range.

Though I have an all time favorite face wash, but still I love trying something new. I have been using this as part of my current skincare regime for almost a month now and today I am sharing all my views on it.

A high performance, soap free face wash with a light, whipped texture. Enriched with skin conditioning ingredients, it helps cleanse and moisturize the skin.

About the ingredients

Sodium cocoamphoacetate and Lauryl glucoside are mild surfactant made from coconut oil, being mild it is suitable for sensitive skin. These are much better than SLS /SleS in not causing the skin any irritation. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate also called as Baby foam, again derived from fatty acids of coconut. It is also an extremely mild cleanser. It works well in both hard and soft water, so no matter where you stay and what the water condition is, the face wash will cleanse your skin. Cocamidopropyl betaine is also a mild surfactant. What I have noticed is there are lot of surfactant and cleansers in their formula. Remaining other compounds you see such as Glyceryl caprylate, Glycol distearate, Glyceryl undecylenate are emolietnts and skin conditioning agents, whereas Sodium benzoate and Potassium benzoate are preservatives.

Packaging

Regular flip cap open tube packaging. Nothing fancy

Colour, texture and fragrance

It has an almost pale pink whitish colour with pearly shine finish. The texture is quite thick. You definitely need a little bit of water for form a foam. Wet palms is not enough for this to foam up. The fragrance is something which is luring me to use the product more than twice a day. The rose fragrance is just amazing. Somehow I feel the fragrance to be more intense than the body wash from the same range. Though may people do not like strong fragrances in their skin care, I also certainly do not, but this fragrance does not smell synthetic. Hence I quite enjoy it.

Direction to use

Gently work up lather with circular motion on wet face. Wash off and pat dry. Avoid contact with eyes.

My experience

On wet palms I take a pea sizes quantity and add in little bit of water to work up a foam. It does not lather or foam much, it just forms some slippery soapy bubbles. It cleanses dirt, sweat and grime effectively. But not very effective in removing your heavy foundation, kajal, kohl, water proof mascara. Those you need remove first with a makeup remover and the wash your face with the face wash.

After wash off with regular tap water, my skin feels a bit slippery as if some residue is left behind. The wet skin feels silky to touch. Internet tells me that Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate make the skin feel silky and I personally do not like that at all. However when washed off with luke warm water, my skin does not feel slippery or silky at all. My skin feels more fresh. If you have very oily skin like me, then I recommend that you wash off with luke warm water. For dry skin, regular tap water is fine.
I did not notice any dry or stretchy feeling on my skin, and this did not strip any natural oils from my skin. I have not noticed any skin irritation of any such on my extremely oily, super sensitive skin.

This has skin conditioners and emollients, this would suit dry skinned girls very well. For very oily skinned girls, use just the quantity your skin requires and you would be fine. I love the fragrance and love the fact that this is soap and paraben free. It has all skin friendly ingredients which is also something to cheer for. I definitely recommend you to try this if you are looking for a mild daily cleanser and if you are somehow who does not wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis.
