Plum Goodness Green Tree Pore Cleansing Face Wash
Hey Everyone,

I have been quite busy the past week with back to back weddings, so blogging took a back seat and posts kept piling up. I would be posting some back to back post of products from same brand in the coming days that I have been using in recent times. Today one such post is from Plum Goodness. Many bloggers have raved about their products so I purchased the whole green tea range including the face wash, toner, moisturizer and the face pack. Today I am going to share with you my experience on the face wash.

This particular brand is raved about in the blogging community. Their claims are quite impressive. I checked the below from their website about this faces and I was sold.

♥ Soap-free, SLS-free gently foaming cleansing system that does not dry skin.
♥ Cellulose beads that gently exfoliate
♥ Antioxidant green tea extracts stop the acne (pimples) formation process in its tracks
♥ Glycolic acid knocks out older skin cells that can hang in there and make your acne worse
♥ Paraben-free, SLS-free, phthalate-free, as always

Packaging ~

The face wash comes in a tube flip cap packaging. What is so cool is their fun way of putting information on the packs. It is quite an innovative marketing idea and does appeal to masses.

Ingredients ~

It has an impressive list of ingredients with glycolic acid, green tea extracts. Glycolic acid acts as an exfoliating agent which helps in clearing acne. There is no mention on how much percentage of it is present though. They should have mentioned that. I do not like the fact that this has SleS. Though this is milder than SLS, but still is quite drying and irritating to skin specially if you are allergic to sulfates.

Texture and Fragrance ~

The face wash is pale greenish in color having a thick gel like consistency. It has very tiny green colored beads in it which are not harsh on skin at all. Sometimes I don't even feel them on skin. This has a nice scent which is quite invigorating.

How to Use ~

Take a smaller-than-coin-sized amount in your palm, work up lather on wet face, rinse and pat dry. Use once or twice daily

Do note that if you're not used to exfoliation, your skin may feel stretched after the first few washes. This is quite normal - use a light moisturizer if your skin feels drier than usual. The balance will be restored within a few days.

Note : How to use is taken from their site

My experience ~

I am always look out for a great cleanser without any harmful chemicals. After reading so many positive reviews on this face wash I thought to give it a try. First let me tell you the things  I like about this. I like the way this smells, its quite refreshing and luxurious feeling. You require a tiny amount and work up to a lather and then message on to wet face and wash off with water. I wash it off with luke warm water. It removes dirt, grime and even makeup quite well.

Now lets talk about what I do not like about the face wash. After I wash it off, my skin is left with a slippery feeling which I do not like, no matter how much I splash water the slipperiness does not seem to go. My face does feel stretchy once it is completely dried off after washing. As the winter sets it, my face feels a bit more drier after wash too. So moisturizing is a must. You cannot think of skipping moisturizer ever for this face wash.

The brand does claim in their website that if you are new to exfoliation, your skin might feel stretchy after couple of washes, But the balance would be restored in few days. But for me this had still not happened, and I have been using this for the past 3 weeks and almost emptied half of the tube. My skin still feel stretchy and slippery after wash. They have also mentioned that this is not suitable for extremely sensitive skin, which is my category. And honestly this had not helped me in keeping acne at bay at all. Just Herbs Silksplash did a much better job in that.

Overall, this face wash did not work for me the way I expected it to be. However I am going to finish the tube as I do not want to waste Rs 345 that I have spent on it. But I would not repurchase this in the future. I would not recommend this to women who have extremely sensitive skin and are allergic to sulfates or glycolic acids. If you are some who has been using the over the counter face washes which are loaded with SLS/SLeS and use this one for the first time, then you might like it. But if you have used sulfate free cleansers from Just Herbs, Forest Essentials or Kama Ayurveda, then if you would not like this cleanser that much, you would find this to be drying.
