Yippie, I won a giveaway, a Colorbar Diamond Shine Lip gloss in 004 Pixie Pink, and this is my first one which makes it even more joyous. I thank Shayoni from Sweet And Bitter Blog for this lovey prize, a great gift for this Christmas. I got the Lip Gloss yesterday and wore it for my lunch and dinner parties. And today I am sharing with you how this new beauty is. This is Colorbar's latest launch by the way.

Packaging ~ 

The lip gloss comes in a transparent glass tube with silver doe foot applicator wand screw cap. The tube felt like glass to me, but my husband was convinced that it was very hard plastic. In anyways, I like the simple and elegant packaging.

Texture ~

Unlike other lips gloss, the texture of this one did not feel very sticky to me. When I applied it on the back of my hand, and rubbed it a little to feel the texture, the gloss got absorbed into my skin leaving behind the shiny silvery particles. The texture almost felt like solidified oil. It's very light weight.

Pigmentation and shine ~

Though the brand claims this to be highly pigmented, but this color in particular did not fare at all in my highly pigmented lips. With one stroke it did not cover my pigmented lips. And layering on too much was too shiny and sparkly for my taste. The shine is out of this world. With one stroke, the gloss gives super shiny and glossy effect to lips without making it look very heavy. If you are extremely fair and has pretty pink non pigmented lips, then the pigmentation of this shade might show well on you. May be the other dark shades are better in pigmentation department.

My experience ~

I am not much of a lip gloss person, only because most of the lip gloss makes my lips feel sticky and I do not like that feeling. Many makes my lips look heavy and when lip gloss bleeds that's not a pretty sight. I am more of a matte lipstick kind of a girl.

Since this one is enriched with oils and supposed to act as a lip care. I used it on top of my un-exfoliated dry lips which did have some dry flakes. After sometime when I wiped it off which is about 2 hours may be ( I was baking cakes yesterday with this lip gloss on and wiped it off when my cakes came out of the oven). What I noticed was, the dryness of my lips were gone. My lips felt smooth and hydrated. There were no colors noticeable in my lips, it only had high shine on it. To hide my pigmentation, I first lined and filled by lips with N*de lip liner and then applied some of this gloss on top of it. This one can be used with combination of any lip liner of your choice or even lipstick. In the swatches below I have done the same. I did not notice much of a bleeding on lips. This does not survive heavy meals. Would survive light meals when eaten carefully. The staying power is however not long. The shine stayed on me maximum of 2 hours after that I was left behind with some shiny sparkles on top of my lips.

Overall, its a great lip gloss which does not feel heavy on lips and does provide lip care just as the company claims. I am not wowed by the pigmentation especially of Pixie Pink shade. But I really love the sparkly shine of this. For girls who are a high shine lip gloss fans, grab this you would definitely love it. Matte lipstick lovers, you might not be a fan of this.
