Packaging ~
The face pack comes in a plastic heat sealed pouch housed in a tiny stainless steel jar also carrying a small wooden spatula. I love the packaging a lot, the jar is so useful, it can be used in future to store my DIY face packs or spices in the kitchen. Kudos to Kama Ayurveda for introducing the mighty tool called "The Spatula" which is so vary much needed. It add so much to the hygiene quotient.
Texture ~
This is not a clay based product, it is a plant based product. The texture is that for powdered dried leaves. The powder is finely milled and have a crumbly texture. It is pale greenish is color which is a weird way gets photographed as grey is whichever lighting I click pictures in.
My Experience ~
I got this few weeks back and used it only couple of times back then. As it is not a clay based product, I had found the application bit tricky. The powdered leaves do make a smooth paste and when applied, you have to apply like a lep in dabbing manner or else this seems to crumble and not apply evenly. I had kept it for 20-30 minutes as suggested by the jar and during removal process, I removed it by messaging in small circular motion. I did notice a wee bit of tingling sensation around my nose and somewhat on my cheeks and chin area. The powdered leaves does a great job in mild exfoliation, removed dead cells and made my skin feel fresh and bright. But it did not do anything for my active acne, neither it prevented acne from flaring up. I was not using it on a regular basis though. As I had other face packs to use, I kept this hanging around in my cup board until recently during Durga Puja.
I have been hopping around the city since last Saturday ( Chaturthi). I came back home in Chaturthi with roaming around in pollution and eating junk, same on Panchami as well. And on that day, I noticed the horror of all horror, my face looked lifeless dirty even after cleansing it well and acne was about to flare up. I could feel the painful tiny inflammation on many parts of my face. And since that day on wards I have been using this Face pack religiously. And I noticed that the inflammation died down and also my face did not get infested by acnes. My face looked fresh all through out Puja and stayed acne free. Apart from this what I liked most is, it did not dry out my skin AT ALL, even though using it daily. So this can be easily used during the winter.
I am happy with the results it shown me during the Puja times. I am not so sure if you can use it daily as nothing as such is mentioned in the package. But if you do not used it regularly you would not notice its acne clearing actions. In the coming days I am planning to use this may be weekly thrice on every alternate days. And also I have noticed that within 20-30 minutes this does not show any results. I have kept the pack on for around 45 minutes.
Overall, you can definitely give this a try if you have acne prone skin. It is really expensive for such a little quantity and definitely not an one application wonder. At least Kama Ayurveda should have given 50 gms of product for 395 INR.
