Just Herbs Rejuvenating Beauty Elixir Facial Serum

Hello Ladies, How's your weekend going. I just came back from the movies and watched "The Walk", the movie gave me a happy jive and a smile on my face. Loved it. Another thing that is giving a smile on my face these days is the newly launched Just Herbs Rejuvenating Beauty Elixir Facial Serum. I was eyeing this product since the time Just Herbs introduced this on their instagram page and thanks to Fab Bag on their September Issue, I got this in it to try. Since the day this has landed on my lap, I have been religiously using this only as part of my night care routine and Oh Boy did it show results !! This brand has never failed to impress me. I have tried quite a few of their products, and most of them did end up in my good books.

Company speaks ~

This multi-tasking night serum is a synergistic blend of treasured Indian herbs to nourish and restore a natural glow and youthfulness to tired, ageing and pigmented skin. Plant polyphenols, carotenoids and flavonoids present in these precious botanicals prevent and reverse free-radical and DNA damage and block the inflammatory changes that result during the skin ageing process.

Cold pressed oils of Rosehips, Wheatgerm, Safflower and Moringa seeds are natural sources of Vitamins C, E and A while  extracts of Indian Senna are a botanical alternative to Hyaluronic Acid ( for fine-line filling and intense  moisturisation).

Liqorice root and Nagkesar form a perfect harmony adding lightening, brightening and skin nourishing properties to this serum.
Use a few drops at bed time or add it to your Just Herbs creams or gels to boost their effect.

 Packaging ~

The serum comes in a dark brown tiny glass bottle with a dropper cap. It's hygienic and travel friendly.

Texture ~

The texture of the serum is aqueous thick fluid. Those it is enriched with many essential oils but this does not feel oily at all. This looks like reduced milk and almost smells like it as well. As there are no added fragrance, the smell could be a little put off for some. But the smell subsides anyways.

My experience ~

Day 1 : I cleanse and tone my skin an use this potion only as my moisturizer. I did not mix it with any other night cream. I wanted to see how much effective this was. I applied a pea sized quantity all over face including my eye area. Next day morning, no breakouts, my skin did not feel oily, it looked fresh.

After 1 week : I noticed that the acne marks on my cheeks ( my cheeks are extremely uneven with previous acnes) are fading and my skin was feeling lot more smoother. I have pigmentation around my mouth and that too appeared to be lighter. Overall, my skin started looking fresh. Previously I used Vichy Nuit Detox, which did help me a lot in controlling acne. But it did nothing for my pigmentation. But this one was showing visible results.

2nd Week : I got a cystic hormonal acne on my cheek, which I usually get at that time of the month. So I dabbed a little product on top of my acne. It did soothe it but did not heal it completely. So I just continued using the serum as my night care along with dabbing an extra bit on top of my acne. My cystic acne was healing faster as it normally would without any topical ointment.

3rd Week : Today is the end of third week, and when I was getting ready to head out for movies, my husband just commented out of the blue " Your skin has really cleared up, its looking very healthy"

I was so happy with his remark, I am also happy that this serum had actually given visible results. My skin is smoother, acne marks are fading, most importantly, the scary pigmentation around my mouth is also lighter. My skin looks more even toned, moisturized and healthy. Now the weather being a bit drier, I am amazed on how great hydration this serum is providing to my skin. But it did nothing for my dark circles though.

With all those goodies, let me share with you a baddie, that is solely on the packaging. Now this is a thick liquid which comes in a very tiny bottle and you definitely have to shake well before using as this precipitates. I am almost half way though the bottle, when the product is going to be near the bottom of the bottle, it would be difficult to take it out by the dropper. It would be difficult to scoop it out with my fingers as well. There's always quite a bit of product which stays behind inside the dropper. It does not give a happy feeling to know that there's quite a bit of product going to be wasted as I cannot take it out. It would have been better if this would have come in a tube packaging with a nozzle.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product and until harsh winter sets in I am going to use this serum only as my night care routine. I definitely recommend this, though the price is on the steeper side. If used daily, this would only last a month. So in that case, this is going to hurt my humble wallet a lot.
