The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Hello Lovelies... Today I am reviewing the Tea Tree BB cream by The Body Shop. I like the fact that The Body Shop has BB creams in their different skin care ranges, so that women can chose specifically what they want and what problem area of their skin they want to target with a BB cream. Most of the BB creams available in the market are loaded with SPF, some how I feel in Indian Summer make up with SPF does not provide much protection. Its better to slather to good quality sunscreen underneath. I had used Loreal BB cream in the past which had SPF and Hyaluronic acid. You can find the review HERE. But while travelling to office I went back to my heavy duty sunscreen routine as that BB cream was not giving good protection I felt. So I thought to get a BB cream which would help in calming my acne.

The BB cream comes in a tube packaging with a flip cap. The flip cap color is different depending on the shade. There are three shades available 01, 02, 03. Shade 02 and 03 would suit perfectly for Indian Skin tone. I find that shade 03 would match duskier women like me.

After reaching office I usually take 10 mins in the restroom to freshen up, damn Indian Summer and Kolkata pollution. I splash my face with cold water , cleanse it with a very gentle cleanser and then apply this BB cream.

Unlike other BB creams I have tried, this one is super light weight almost vanishes into the skin within seconds. While applying the skin feels cool and calm which I just love.  It has a very strong smell of Tea tree, which might be too much for a sensitive nose. But it does not bother me at all as I swear by the Tea Tree oil from this range. The texture of the cream being very light weight it is extremely easy to spread and blend into the skin.

My left hand has burnt marks from a major accident at childhood, you can see some black pigmented spots of it in the left image of the above swatch pic. In the right image, it is the BB cream blended. It gives a sheer to medium coverage,  evening out the skin tone giving a dewy finish. It does not give matte effect. What so great about it is, I dab a little extra on top of my active acne and wait for it to settle in, and this seems to calm the pimple down, also concealing it in the process.

Coming to the baddies, the BB cream being very expensive almost as expensive as a regular foundation, I expected it to have a decent staying power. This just vanishes to nothingness after 2-3 hours. You would again have to re-apply and touch up. Since this does not have SPF, for women who rely on BB creams as sun protection, this would not do anything for them. You can apply this BB cream on top of your regular sunscreen and head out. In hot and humid weather this just melts away with sweat. If you have extremely oily skin, this would not do anything for the oil control. It would make your face look grimy and dark if not staying in AC.

Overall, I feel that while purchasing any BB cream it is a must to judge before hand, why I need this BB cream and how this would help me. I like this BB cream for all its goodness. I personally do not mind splashing my face with water after half way through the day and then re-applying the BB cream and touch up. That's my way for taking a break from work. If you are suffering from acne and you want a BB cream to heal it while providing some coverage then you can definitely get this one, you would not be disappointed.
