Vichy Eau Thermal Spa Water Spray Review

Monday, June 22, 2015

Vichy has a range of products where they use Thermal Spa water. Not only Vichy if you search the internet you would find so many brands using this special water in their cosmetic formulations. I was extremely curious about what this water does to the skin. So I bought a smaller size to test, thinking if I love it I would buy the bigger bottle. Today I am going to review the Vichy Eau Thermal Spa water.

According to their website ~

After removing your make-up and before your daily skincare routine, hold 30 cm away from your face and spray onto cleansed skin. Leave on for a few seconds and then dry by gently blotting with a tissue. Thermal Spa Water can also be used to help set your make-up or to refresh the skin at any time of the day..

First of all, I do not like anything that comes out of a gas pressurized bottled, that is why I do not use spray deodorant, I stick to alcohol free roll-ons or body mists. On a clean face when the spray it on, it feels like spraying water all over my face, nothing much. I would have preferred the packaging to be in a clear transparent bottle with a mist spray nozzle. I do not understand why this has to be pressure packaged, since this is just mineral water sourced from the natural springs of France.

Thermal spring waters are extremely beneficial for skin and hair. When I visited Sikkim and hills of the North of Bengal my skin and hair was super healthy and shiny. I was so loving it that I did not want to come back. That's because the water sourced from hills are mostly from waterfalls or natural springs.

Coming to this bottle, when I sprayed it on the water did not come out evenly. Some were big droplets and some were very little hence even coverage all over the face did not happen. I had to use my finger to swipe it all over my face. I waited for it to dry out, it dries out just like water, no sticky or residual feeling. While drying it gives and cooling and soothing effect which I like. It did not do anything wow to my skin, no improvement of skin texture, or evening out skin tone. I was expecting some benefits. This does not substitute for a toner. The recent bottles do not have the list of minerals that are present in the water. The ingredients list just says AQUA.

I am not going to re-purchase this as I personally did not like the feeling of buying something that expensive just to have the feeling of spraying some water on to my skin. I would rather buy a bottle of Evian Mineral water from the Supermarket and add a drop or two of essential oils and store in a spray nozzle bottle. I can spray it on time and again to refresh my skin at a much cheaper price.

If you love spring water, want to refresh your skin time and again, and do not mind on splurging on yourself that you can get this. If you are on budget and rather invest the money on something really good, then you can definitely skin this.

Love,
Shampita.
