Soultree licorice shikakai & bhringraj with nourishing coconut shampoo - Review

I came across this brand on my hunt for SLS/SLES free shampoos over the internet, and yes I DO NOT use any sulphate containing shampoos no matter how big the brand is.
Chicco has been my fall back on shampoo for quite a long time. But I never leave a chance to try out a new kid in the block of SLS/SLES free shampoo land. Soultree licorice shikakai & bhringraj is definitely not a new kid on the block, I have been pretty late in trying this.
Will I continue with this shampoo and never go back to Chicco....
Soultree licorice shikakai & bhringaraj with nourishing coconut hair repair shampoo is for dull and damaged hair. Organic extracts of seven ayurvedic herbs makes this a complete hair nourishment shampoo and claims to make hair darker and healthier.

This shampoo is again PARABEN and SLS/SLES free. This is also free from any silicones, DEA/TEA, phenoxyethanols and artifical fragrance. I like the list of organically sourced herbs which are known to be good for your hair. This is cruelty free, biodegradable and comes in a recyclable packaging. Does it look like  all good things are packaged in a small bottle.
The shampoo looks like tamarind syrup in a bottle and has the consistency of gel like. Look how thick it sits on my palm. As this does not contains any artifical fragrance, this smells very pungent herbal like which might not be very nose friendly to some. The smell however does not linger on forever. It does subsides gradually. The direction of use asks you to message shampoo on to hair and keep for a minute, but I message directly on to scalp first and then hair and then keep for a minute. Sadly a little does not go a long away. As this does not lather much, I require a lot of product to cover my whole head and hair and trust me I don't have a lot of hair (crying covering a pillow on her face). So, a 200 ml bottle will last you probably about for10-12 washes, which is like for a month. But yeah, like any herbal concoction, you need to be patient to see good results and you need to give time to your hair to adjust to it. But by the first wash I can say, this did clean hair and scalp and my hair did feel light, however I doubt this will make your hair darker. It did nothing to control hair fall though. My Hubby used it out of curiosity and he said he had tremendous hair fall and boy that man is blessed with some good hair! May be I should try this one for couple of months at a stretch to check on the hair fall.

Price: Rs 450/- for 200 ml
Availability : Online

The Goodies:
  • SLS/SLES, PARABEN, artificial fragrance and colors free.
  • Cruetly free and biodegradable.
  • Definitely makes hair clean and healthy.
The Baddies:
  • Not very wow on the hair fall control. Then again I am going to use it on more washes to check on it.
  • The price is a tad bit higher considering a lot of product is required and the bottle will finish up soon.
Hence: YES, I am going to re-purchase it to give it sometime to show its results. Try this one and let me know how this had fared on your lovely mane.

Love and stay colorful,
